Sharpie – Billboard

•January 23, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I came across this amazing billboard on one of the blogs I frequent.

interactive-billboard

Its the an interactive billboard so that people can write on them!! No it wasn’t created by sharpie but it sure is cool, and I would love to find one. From my research I know this they are in the UK and not the US. I am guessing France, or England.

If you could write anything on a billboard what would you write?

Scheduling

•January 20, 2009 • Leave a Comment

So last night I was playing around with WordPress and I discovered some pretty cool stuff I can do with it. Like, write posting and set them to publish in the future, so If I know I am going to be gone but want something to be posted I can do so. So I am all about scheuduling, and staying on top of things this year and decided to take a look at my schedule:

picture-2So I need to learn to schedule more time to myself!! My days are crazy going from 6 AM 9 PM. Its going to be a long day tomorrow! Good thing is I am learning how to stay more organized and focused. Me focused I know I would of never imagined it but, I am! As crazy as things seem to be now and as much as I feel like things are falling apart without my control, I am actually handling everything very well. I am proud of myself. I guess when you become a quarter century old you learn a thing or to, or at least you think you have!

Blogging More

•January 19, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I know I keep sayin that I am going to blog more, and I have had a terrible case of writers block. So, I finally was able to get stuff out today, and wrote several pages in the journal my sister gave me for christmas:

img_1198img_11971

I love this journal!!!! So, I plan to write in it alot. I have so far, I like to write the more personal stuff in my journal plus its a great stress reliever.

So, to catch everyone up, I will be super busy this semester (yes, I said semester). I am going back to school taking some classes. I am very excited and think I will do very well.  I have also made some notes on time management and task management (things I have found to work). To help me stay on top of things in this new year.

Stick to a schedule.

  • Use a planner.
  • Review your schedule daily (take inventory of appointments, and things you need to get done.)
  • Make daily to do list (prioritize list).
  • Jot down reminders and ideas (records, appointments, errands, and thought that come to you.
  • Update your schedule every night (establish time every night for reviewing what you got done and transferring new task and appointments to your day planner.)
  • Give yourself visual reminders (message boards, notes taped to doors, etc.)

Time Managment Tips:

  • Schedule time for errands and yourself (grocerry shopping, gym, etc..) (schedule a them at a time when you are not stressed).
  • Don’t take on more than you can handle! (Stop auto yes, and always check your schedule).
  • Give your self more time than you think you need.
  • Plan to be early, not on time.
  • Setup reminders to leave.

Task Management Tips:

  • Do your favorite task first.
  • Build breathing space into your schedule.
  • Shorten the periods you devote to a single task.
  • Break bigger task into a series of smaller ones.
  • Set deadlines and other limits for decisions.
  • Enlist in the help of friends or family memberse.

Hopefully by doing a few of these things on a daily basis will help me balance a 40+ hour work week, and 11 hours of school, plus everythign else I manage fit into my life!

I am also going to try to do 1 blog per day for 2009 even if it is a short writing. I think it is good for me to write something, and keep my mind going and occupied. Plus there is plenty of things to write about!

Here are some future blog topics to look for:

  • Favorite Pen Reviews / Office Supplies
  • New Year Resolutions (I know I haven’t let anyone in on what they are yet.)
  • Presidential Inauguration
  • School
  • Chinese New Years
  • List (Just Random list because they are fun).
  • CES 2009 Reviews (there are more to come!)

I am certain that I will be able to fit everything into this fancy red organizer/day timer I bought at borders. To help me stay on track of everything for 2009. I can’t wait to see how this year will turn out and what is has to bring. I know I am very very happy with what I have already began to see and experience in my life for 2009 and I am sure it will be better than 2008!

Blue Ant CES 2009

Blue Ant

With new driving laws comes new technology! Now that 27 states have some sort of law banning talking on a phone while drive, stating they must have a “hands free device”. Its no wonder at CES this year there were many tech companies showing off there new “hands free devices”. The one that stood out and caught my eye was Blue Ant. Mainly because I love there logo, and they had an amazing look booth.

I was impressed to see what Blue Ant brought to the table this year. Last year they released BlueAnt V1, one of the first voice activated blue tooth headsets. They also just announced BlueAnt Q1 which combines the voice activation, sleek design, with the ability to virtually eliminate wind and road noises!!

The device is quite the looker; slim with a metallic sheen. It measures 2.17 inches by 0.63 inch by 0.27 inch, has up to 4 hours of talk time, and 120 hours of standby time. It will retail for $129.95 and won’t be available until the second quarter of 2009. I can’t wait :)

I haven’t written to much lately. I finally finished my Lombard St. layout, so now I can move on to a new one. I have plenty to do! Last week was fairly boring. I must admit though I didn’t write much because I became completely obsessed with finishing Eclipse. Which I must say was a completely pointless book, I was disappointed in it and had a hard time finishing it. I am now reading Breaking Dawn and not sure how I feel about it yet, but I don’t want to give any spoilers out so….. new topic!

Last night I got a call from a friend of mine Tonya and her and I had dinner. It was a pleasant surprise because she is a friend of mine from DC!! She will be here for about a week, so hopefully I get to see her next weekend too. I brought my camera to dinner but, can you believe I forgot to take pictures. Shame Shame……..

This week is fairly un-eventful as all weeks are for me, work, scrapbooking, and reading. I am  going to try to get 3 layouts done this week! I am going to get my pictures developed tomorrow. I am also looking at buying either the Circut Expression or the Slice. I think I like the Circut better because it has alphabets and more shapes and I think you can generally do more with it. It doesn’t look like you can do that much with the Slice.
Back to work……….

Yes today is 08-08-2008. The most auspicious day of the year!!! Check out what Flickr is doing it. I am going to join in how about you? I took my picture that I was going to submit this morning, but realized I left my USB cable at home : (. So, I will post it when I get home.

So my agenda for today is work (blah), but there is a baby shower at work for a guys wife. I am going in on a gift card with some of my other co-workers and I brought my camera so maybe I should take some pictures?

I took pictures at the baby shower.

I took pictures at the baby shower.

I guess, I am not really big on office celebrations, not sure why though. Wing is dropping off Wilson this morning at the airport. It was a alot of fun having him here for a week. I wish I had been able to spend more time with him. Oh well. Tonight, I will be going to the Scrapbooking Nook – - – NO MATTER WHAT!! I want some Yellow Letters, and they have tons of Thickers. So, I am sure that they have those too. If not I know they have chipboard and I can just paint it, and paper i can buy, oh and embellishments too!

I can’t wait until I get my SC kit so I can do some more pages :) . I have so much to scrapbook right now, My Napa Trip, SF w/ Landon, Jonathans 1st Day of School, SF w/ Wilson, DC Zoo, the list goes on and on.
So, I need to work on getting caught up. I just stuck on this one LO I am doing right now. I know exactly what I want done, but I can’t go on to the next one until that one is complete. I am weird like that. After the scrapbooking store, I might see if I can get wing to go see a movie. I want to see Swing Vote, and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. I think I will have better luck on the 1st.

Have a great Friday everyone!!

Major Events Today!

•August 7, 2008 • 9 Comments

I have two very major events today. 1. My  Dad’s Birthday, I believe he is 47 this year. So a very happy birthday to him. 2. Is my Brothers 1st and last 1st day of High School.

To start with my Dad I’ll give some interesting and in my opinion bizarre facts about him.

1. He has his own gourmet mushroom company. - Yes, my dad grows mushrooms, they are really cool mushrooms. Here is in his I guess workshop. I have no clue what he is doing but, it looks important!

2. He raises Quail. - Yep that is right Quail! He raises them and sales their eggs at the farmer market with along with his Mushrooms.

3. He Built his house by hand. – That is pretty freaking cool.  He bought a house that was badly damaged in Hurricane Katrina. Check out the great work!

4. He is all about going Green! - Yes, he is all about it, I am telling you! He built some sort of solar water heater so that he could save money. Now he is on to some sort of new project. I told my grandmother he belongs in California.

5. He Blogs! - Yes, my dad blogs. You can check it out click me! If you swing by there wish him happy birthday. He blogs some interesting stuff about the house he built or his going green projects. So enjoy :D .

Ok, so enough about my dad… now on to my brother.

It is his Senior year. I am so happy for him. Yet, I am very sad because I don’t get to be there to watch him stroll in with all the seniors. Luckily my sister took some pictures for me and sent them my way, and equipped brother with a camera and instructed him to use. She also made sure to take some the night before. She made the sign for him :) Check it out.

I don't know why he is in boxers.........

I don't know why he is in boxers.........

So, that is what is going on today. Although, I don’t really have anything going on, just work. Once, I am done I am going to try to hit up the scrapbooking store to see if I can find some yellow letters. Argh they are very hard to find. I also got notified my last night that my SC kit shipped. I can’t wait :) . I got the Main Kit + ALL 3 Add-on’s. They were so great I just couldn’t pass up. Also, I have alot of OLD paper that I am not really ever going to use does anyone have suggestions as to what to do with it?
